Beaulieu launches search for storytellers

Beaulieu is searching for talented storytellers with a passion for bringing history to life, as it looks to recruit new visitor engagement hosts for 2022 to join its busy team.

Could you play the role of a loveable 1930s mechanic in the National Motor Museum, ready to drive any number of historic vehicles from the collection? Transform into a London bus driver from 1912 to take the wheel of the iconic Veteran Bus? Or get behind the controls of the marvellous Monorail? Then you could be the right kind of performer to hop across history and engage with Beaulieu’s visitors.

The visitor engagement hosts will be bringing their playful, idiosyncratic style to the role as they welcome visitors, creating an immersive, interactive experience of the bygone eras of Beaulieu’s rich history. Flexible and versatile, with the confidence to take on new challenges, the hosts will enchant and inspire with facts and stories, for all to enjoy as part of their day out.

With roles interchangeable across the close-knit team, no two days will be the same. One day you could be a bus conductor, the next you could be picking up a microphone to narrate Beaulieu’s vehicle parades. An enthusiastic, can-do attitude is key.

Louise Gay from Beaulieu’s Visitor Services said: “This is an exciting, interchangeable role which we are developing this year. We are looking for people who want to learn about Beaulieu’s vibrant, varied past, and bring it to life for our visitors. Making everyone’s visit a fun and memorable occasion is at the heart of what we do.”
