Most scenic roads in the UK revealed

With lockdown easing well underway and more travel on the cards, Instagram hashtag #TheOpenRoad  have given an insight into the most scenic roads in the UK.

Six stand out locations were identified by Carole Nash with roads across the country making it into the most scenic list.

School Road, Kyle of Lochalsh

A picturesque village in Scotland, Kyle of Lochalsh has the best of both, being surrounded by mountains and lochs. It also boasts an impressive collection of ancient castles that look particularly impressive when casting their long shadows at sundown.

Gunter’s Bridge, Petworth

Petworth, located in West Sussex is quintessentially British and features many quaint winding country lanes, surrounded by rolling fields. Although these can be a challenge to navigate, the excitement of discovering what is around the corner is what this is all about.

A303, Warminster

Warminster in Wiltshire is a small market town that has preserved much of its historical beauty. Wide, spacious roads with acres of fields on either side give the feeling of space.

Blaenau Ffestiniog

Empty roads are a rare treat, but not in Wales where you can easily expect to have the whole stretch to yourself for quite some time. There’s no better feeling.

Trewey Hill, Cornwall

Famous for its beaches, Zennor, Cornwall is a sight we all crave to see during the warm spring and summer months. After all, what could be better than a blue sky paired with the blue sea.

Dennes Lane, Rye

Rich in history, the town of Rye in Sussex has everything you could wish for; cobbled streets, thatched roofs and wide open roads.

Mark Copper at Carole Nash said, “We get so caught up in going abroad every year that we sometimes forget to appreciate how charming the UK is. I think this is the year that everyone will get out, see places they’ve never seen before and develop a new love of staycations and long days out.”
